Paul Burton (Trombone), Mike Davis (Trumpet) and Kenji Fenton (Saxophones) are the enigmatic trio that make up the Hot City Horns. Paul and Mike first met while studying at the famed Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts (LIPA) in 2005, and after graduating went on to meet Kenji Fenton, an RNCM alumnus, and the inimitable Hot City Horns was born.
Over the past decade, the Hot City Horns have performed and recorded globally for some of the world's most pioneering artists. Their unmatched energy on stage sets them apart, and in 2018 that energy saw them become the first live horn section to join Sir Paul McCartney's touring band since he toured with Wings in the '70s. They kicked off his "Freshen Up" Tour with a surprise show at New York's iconic Grand Central Station, unveiling the trio to the world.
Together they have blown away audiences alongside artists such as Robbie Williams, Stormzy, Kojey Radical, Emeli Sandé, Disclosure and Seal, and performed at some of the world's most notable venues, including the Royal Albert Hall, LA's Dodger Stadium, Wembley Stadium and the Green Bay Packers' Lambeau Field. The Hot City Horns have also shared the bill with multiple headliners at legendary festivals including Austin City Limits, Lollapalooza, Japan's Summer Sonic and Glastonbury's Sir Paul McCartney headline slot in summer 2022, along with television spots such as SNL 50 and Jools Holland alongside a host of notable artists. Each band member carries an impressive list of credits and accomplishments in their own right, and as a group they are paving the way for live horn sections in mainstream music.
